Getting There

  • Walking

    From Andrassy Avenue, head towards the nearest metro station, which is the 'Oktogon' station (M1 line). If you are at the Oktogon, take the metro towards 'Mexikói Út' and get off at the 'Hősök tere' station. After exiting the station, you will find yourself at Heroes' Square. From there, walk straight through the square, and you will see the entrance to City Park (Városliget) directly ahead. Continue walking into the park, and shortly you will come across Vajdahunyad Castle on your right. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Heroes' Square to the castle.

    If you prefer to take public transport, after reaching 'Hősök tere' station from Andrassy Avenue, you can take bus number 30 or 105 from 'Hősök tere' bus stop that is next to the square. Get off at the 'Vajdahunyad vár' bus stop, which is just a minute's walk from the castle entrance. Make sure to purchase a ticket before boarding, which costs approximately 350 HUF (Hungarian Forints).
