Public Transport
To reach the Lajos Batthyányi Eternal Flame via public transport, start by locating the nearest metro station. If you are near the center, get to the Deák Ferenc tér station (M1, M2, or M3 lines). From there, take the M2 (red line) towards Déli pályaudvar. Get off at the Kossuth Lajos tér station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the Parliament building. The Eternal Flame is located just outside the Parliament building, in Kossuth Lajos Square. It’s a short walk from the station.

If you are already in the vicinity of the Parliament or in District V, simply walk to Kossuth Lajos Square. Look for the Parliament building, which is hard to miss due to its grand architecture. The Lajos Batthyányi Eternal Flame is positioned prominently in the square right in front of the Parliament. From the square, you can also enjoy the view of the Danube River.

If you prefer to take the tram, make your way to the tram stop at Jászai Mari tér. Take tram number 2, which runs along the Danube river. Ride the tram towards Kossuth Lajos tér. Get off at the stop named Kossuth Lajos tér. After you alight, you will find the Lajos Batthyányi Eternal Flame just a short walk away in Kossuth Lajos Square, directly in front of the Parliament building.
