Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, head towards Budapest from any location in Transdanubia. Use the M1 or M7 highway, depending on your starting point. Once you reach Budapest, follow signs for 'Budapest' and 'Inner City'. Take the exit toward Váci út, and merge onto Váci út. Continue on Váci út until you reach the junction with Kálvin tér. At Kálvin tér, turn onto Rákóczi út and follow it as it becomes Kossuth Lajos utca. Continue straight until you reach Báthory utca. Turn right onto Báthory utca, and you will find John von Neumann's birthplace at number 26. Parking is available on nearby streets, but be sure to check for any parking fees and restrictions.

• Public Transportation - Train and Metro

  For those using public transportation, first take a train to Budapest. From various cities in Transdanubia, you can board a train at your local station heading to Budapest's Keleti or Nyugati railway stations. Upon arrival in Budapest, find the nearest metro station and take Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli pályaudvar. Get off at the Kossuth Lajos tér station. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to Báthory utca. Head southeast on Kossuth Lajos tér toward Kálmán Imre utca, then turn left onto Kálmán Imre utca. Continue straight until you reach Báthory utca, then turn right. The birthplace is at number 26.

  Alternatively, you can take a bus to Budapest. Look for intercity buses that connect your location in Transdanubia directly to Budapest. Major bus companies like Volánbusz operate routes to Budapest's Népliget bus station. From Népliget, take Metro Line 3 (the blue line) towards Újpest-Központ. Change at Kálvin tér to Metro Line 2 (the red line) towards Déli pályaudvar. Get off at Kossuth Lajos tér and follow the walking directions mentioned previously to reach Báthory utca.
