Walking
If you are near the Gellért Baths, head towards the Gellért Hill. Start by walking up the path from the baths that leads directly to the hill's summit. This should take about 15-20 minutes. As you ascend, you'll find well-marked paths; just follow the signs for Citadella. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful views of the Danube River and the city skyline.
Public Transport (Bus)
From the Gellért Baths, walk to the nearby bus stop called 'Gellért fürdő' (Gellért Baths). Take Bus 27 towards 'Kelenföld vasútállomás' and ride for one stop. Get off at 'Citadella' stop. From there, it's a short walk to the entrance of Citadella, which is clearly marked. Note that a single bus ticket costs approximately 350 HUF.
Walking from Liberty Bridge
If you are near the Liberty Bridge, walk up to the hill from the bridge. Cross the bridge and take the stairs on the Buda side leading up to Gellért Hill. This route will take about 20-30 minutes, and you will enjoy great views as you climb. Look for signs that indicate the way to Citadella once you reach the top.
