Walking
Start at Eger's Dobó Square (Dobó István tér), the central hub of the city. From the square, head east towards Kossuth Lajos Street (Kossuth Lajos utca). Continue straight on Kossuth Lajos Street until you reach the intersection with Eszterházy Square (Eszterházy tér). Turn left onto Eszterházy Square and walk through the square, enjoying the beautiful architecture. At the end of the square, you will see the entrance to the Eger Castle. Enter the castle grounds and head towards the upper lookout points. Follow the signs to the 'Kilátás a városra' viewpoint, which is located at the highest point of the castle grounds, offering breathtaking views of Eger and the surrounding area.
Public Transport
If you prefer to take public transport, start at Eger's Dobó Square and walk to the nearby bus station located on Széchenyi Street. Take bus number 10 or 11 towards Eger Castle. The bus ride is brief, approximately 5-10 minutes. Once you arrive at the Eger Castle stop, exit the bus and follow the path leading to the castle entrance. Once inside, navigate towards the upper lookout points where 'Kilátás a városra' is located. Ensure you check the bus schedule for return trips.
