Car
To reach Buda Castle from Kapos Valley by car, start by taking Route 67 towards Székesfehérvár. Continue onto M7 highway towards Budapest. Once you approach the city, follow the signs for the city center and then for Buda. Exit onto Hegyalja út and continue until you reach the Buda Castle area. There are several parking options near Szent György tér, where Buda Castle is located, but be prepared for parking fees that vary depending on duration.
Public Transportation
To get to Buda Castle from Kapos Valley using public transportation, first head to the Kaposvár Train Station. Take a train to Budapest Déli (Southern) Station. The journey takes approximately 2 hours. Once in Budapest, you can either take the metro (M2) from Déli Station to Széll Kálmán tér (approx. 5 minutes) or catch a bus or tram that services the area. From Széll Kálmán tér, you can take the bus 16 or 16A directly to Szent György tér, which is a short walk from Buda Castle. Be aware that tickets for the train and public transportation in Budapest are not interchangeable, so you will need to purchase a separate ticket for each.
