Car
If you are traveling by car from Kunság, head towards Budapest via the M5 motorway. Once you approach Budapest, take the exit for the M1/M7 and follow signs toward the city center. As you enter the city, continue following signs for 'Városliget' (City Park). Look for Vajdahunyad stny. and follow it until you reach the castle. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be parking fees.
Public Transportation - Bus
To reach Vajdahunyad Castle via public transportation, find the nearest bus stop in Kunság. Take bus 120 or 130 towards the city center. After about 30-40 minutes, disembark at the 'Hősök tere' (Heroes' Square) stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the castle. Simply head east along Andrássy Avenue, then turn left onto Vajdahunyad stny. The total journey may take around an hour including waiting times.
Public Transportation - Metro
If you prefer the metro, board the nearest metro line in Kunság towards the center of Budapest. Transfer to Line 1 (the yellow line) at 'Deák Ferenc tér' station. Ride until 'Vörösmarty tér' and then take tram number 1 towards 'Közvágóhíd.' Get off at the 'Hősök tere' stop, which is a short walk to Vajdahunyad Castle. The entire trip may take approximately 60-75 minutes.
Walking
If you are already in Budapest or prefer to explore on foot, walk through City Park (Városliget) after reaching Heroes' Square. The castle is located within the park, and it’s an enjoyable stroll to admire the surrounding nature and other attractions. The walk from Heroes' Square to the castle takes around 10 minutes.
