Car
If you are traveling by car from Kunság, head towards Budapest via the M1 motorway. After approximately 50 kilometers, merge onto the M7 motorway towards Budapest. Continue on the M7 until you reach the city center. Follow signs for 'Buda' and take the 'Margit híd' (Margaret Bridge) exit. After crossing the bridge, follow 'Fő utca' until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto 'Krisztina körút' and drive straight. You will find parking options near the Fisherman's Bastion, but be aware that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Fisherman's Bastion using public transportation, start at Kunság train station and take a train to Budapest. Upon arrival at 'Budapest Nyugati' station, transfer to tram 4 or 6 towards 'Széll Kálmán tér'. Get off at 'Széll Kálmán tér' and then take bus 16, which will take you directly to the Fisherman's Bastion. The bus ride is typically around 15 minutes. Be sure to validate your ticket, as fines for not doing so can be significant.
Walking
Once you arrive at Fisherman's Bastion via bus or tram, you will likely be dropped off at the main entrance area. From there, you can explore the beautiful surroundings by foot. The Bastion is located in the picturesque Castle District, and walking through the cobblestone streets offers a true taste of Budapest's historic charm. The Bastion itself is just a few minutes' walk from the bus stop, and signs will direct you to the entrance.
