Car
If you are travelling by car, start by navigating to Parád, Hungary. From the center of Parád, head east on the main road (Route 24) towards the Mátra Mountains. Follow this road until you reach the sign for 'Ilona-völgyi vízesés' (Ilona Valley Waterfall). There is a designated parking area near the waterfall, where you can safely leave your vehicle. The parking may incur a small fee, so be prepared to pay for parking.
Public Transportation
To reach Ilona Valley Waterfall using public transportation, take a train or bus to Parád. From Budapest, you can take a train to Gyöngyös and then switch to a local bus that goes to Parád. Once you arrive in Parád, look for local signs directing you towards the Ilona Valley Waterfall. It's about a 30-minute walk from the bus stop to the waterfall. The path is well marked; just follow the signs for 'Ilona-völgyi vízesés'. Wear comfortable shoes for the hike.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of the waterfall, take the marked hiking trails leading from Parád to Ilona Valley Waterfall. The walk is approximately 3 kilometers and takes about 45 minutes. Follow the path through the beautiful forest area, enjoying the natural surroundings as you make your way to the waterfall. Ensure to bring water and a light snack, as there are no facilities along the trail.
