Car
If you are driving, start from Pécs, the nearest major city. Take Route 58 towards Magyaregregy. When you reach the village, look for signs directing you to Máré-vár. The last stretch is a narrow road leading up to the castle ruins. There is a parking area near the entrance where you can leave your car. Note that there may be a small parking fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Máré-vár by public transport, take a train from Pécs to Magyaregregy. Check the train schedule for departure times. Once you arrive at the Magyaregregy train station, it is about a 30-minute walk to the castle. Follow the signs towards Máré-vár, which will take you through the village and up the hill. Wear comfortable shoes as the path can be uneven.
Hiking
