From Salgotarjan, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located at the central square (Fő tér). Take the bus marked 'Eger' (Bus No. 7 or 12). The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Eger, disembark at the Eger bus station. From the bus station, head southeast on Széchenyi István utca towards Vár utca. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer (approximately 15 minutes on foot) until you reach the entrance of the Castle of Eger at Vár, 3300 Eger.

Walking
If you prefer to walk from Salgotarjan to Eger, start from the central square (Fő tér) and head southwest on Kossuth Lajos utca. Follow the road for about 2 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the road to Eger. Turn right and continue straight for approximately 12 kilometers, which will take around 2 hours. Once in Eger, follow the signs towards the Castle, which is located on a hill with a clear view from various points in the city.
