From the center of Blonduos, head north along the main road (Skaftahlíð) towards the coast. Continue walking for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the Blonduos Church. This is a good landmark. From the church, follow the road west towards the coastline, which will lead you to the beach area. You may also see signs for Illugastadir as you walk. Once you reach the coastline, look for a path leading north along the beach. Follow this path for approximately 3 kilometers, keeping the sea on your left side. You will see the seals lounging on the rocks and the sandy shores of Illugastadir.
