Car
If you're driving from Egilsstaðir, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading southeast. Continue for approximately 205 kilometers until you reach Höfn. Once in Höfn, follow the signs to the town center and then to Júllatún 11. The Columnar Basalt can be found nearby. Make sure to find parking in the designated areas in Höfn.
Public Transportation
To reach Höfn by public transport, you can take the bus from Egilsstaðir, which is part of the Strætó bus service. Buses run several times a day, and the journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Upon arriving in Höfn, you can either walk to Júllatún 11 or use local taxis for convenience. The distance is about 1.5 kilometers from the bus station to Columnar Basalt.
Walking
If you are already in Höfn, you can walk to Columnar Basalt from the town center. Start at the Höfn bus station and head southwest on Hafnarbraut, then turn left onto Suðurgata. Continue straight until you reach Júllatún. The walk is approximately 20 minutes, covering about 1.5 kilometers.
