Car
If you are driving from the town of Höfn, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading northwest. Continue for about 180 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 98. Turn left onto Route 98 and continue for approximately 20 kilometers. Follow the signs to Arnarstapi, where you will find Gatklettur located just off the main road. There is no entrance fee for visiting Gatklettur.
Public Transportation
To reach Gatklettur using public transportation, start at the nearest major town, Höfn. You can catch a bus heading to Arnarstapi. Depending on the bus schedule, you may need to transfer at the town of Vik. Once you arrive in Arnarstapi, Gatklettur is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the road signs toward the coast, and you will see the rock formation. Be sure to check the latest bus schedules on the Strætó website, as they can vary by season.
