If you are traveling by car, start from Egilsstaðir, the largest town in the Eastern Region. Head west on Route 1 (Ring Road) towards Reyðarfjörður. After approximately 30 km, take the exit towards Route 93. Continue on Route 93 until you reach the junction with Route 1 again. Take a left to head south on Route 1. After about 60 km, turn onto Route 94 towards Varmahlíð. Follow Route 94 for approximately 40 km, and then turn onto Kringlumýri Road. Kakalaskáli will be located on your left-hand side at Kringlumýri, Akrahreppur, 561, Varmahlíð.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Egilsstaðir to Akureyri via the Eastern Region bus service. Once you arrive in Akureyri, transfer to a local bus heading towards Varmahlíð. Check the bus schedule carefully as services may be limited. After arriving in Varmahlíð, you will need to take a taxi from the bus stop to Kakalaskáli as it is not within walking distance.
