Car
If you're driving from Egilsstaðir, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading east. Continue for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 93. Turn left onto Route 93 and follow the signs toward Seyðisfjörður. Stay on Route 93 for about 20 kilometers, then take a right onto Route 92 towards Njardvik. After approximately 10 kilometers, you'll see signs for Stórurð. Turn left onto the road leading to the parking area. Be aware that the road can be rough and may require a 4x4 vehicle, especially if weather conditions are poor. Parking is free.

From Egilsstaðir, take a bus heading to Seyðisfjörður. The bus service is operated by Strætó and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Seyðisfjörður, you can catch a local taxi to Njardvik, which is approximately 8 kilometers away. Taxi fares may vary, so confirm the price with the driver before starting your ride. Once you reach Njardvik, follow the signs to the Stórurð trailhead, which is well-marked. Note that public transportation schedules may vary, so check the latest bus times on the Strætó website.
