From Fimmvörðuháls Pass, head south on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Continue for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 41. Take Route 41 towards Reykjavík. After about 8 kilometers, follow the signs for Þjóðgarðurinn Sögumenn (the Sagas National Park) and continue towards the ferry terminal at Skarfabakki. The ferry to Viðey departs from here, and you should check the schedule ahead of time. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes and costs around 1,500 ISK for adults.
