Dynjandi Waterfall, Fishing Village, and Bird Sanctuary

Shore Excursion

Guide was excellent and area was beautiful. The tour operator indcated that this was their busiest day of the year, so that may be why, but with the number of people at the stops the time was not sufficient for us to see everything we wanted to so it felt like it would have been better if it was scheduled as a longer tour. We were given 1 hour and 10 minutes at Dynjandi Waterfall, which unfortunately due to the number of people on the narrow rocky path was not a sufficient amount of time to use the restroom and hike all the way to the top of the falls and back. We were given about 15 minutes at each of the other scheduled stops which was sufficient at the bird sanctuary (we were too late in the season for birds but it was still pretty) but would have liked more time in the fishing village. The only restrooms were at the falls and the fishing village and the lines were very long.

Peaks and Mines

Fun hiking trail in Isafjordur with beautiful views

We chose to do a hike instead of going to the recommended falls because we had already been around Iceland and we had seen our share of falls. The hike was a good alternative and luckily, we had nice weather. If was a good walk if you like to get out into nature and just walk. It was not hard at all. The scenery on the hike as well as the other places we visited was phenomenal. We enjoyed the experience.
