Car
From Kerlingarfjöll, head south on Road 35 towards Haukadalur. Continue on this road for approximately 12 kilometers. At the junction, take a left onto Stangarvegur (Road 804). Drive for about 5 kilometers until you reach the parking area for Gjáin. Note that the road may be gravel and require a 4x4 vehicle depending on the weather conditions.
Public Transportation
While there is no direct public transport to Gjáin, you can take a bus from Reykjavik to Hella. From Hella, you will need to arrange a taxi or shuttle service to reach Gjáin, as local transport may not be available. Make sure to book in advance, as services can be limited.
Hiking
If you are feeling adventurous and are already in the Kerlingarfjöll area, you can hike to Gjáin. Start from the Kerlingarfjöll campsite following the marked trails towards the valley.
