Car
From Kerlingarfjöll, head south on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Continue on Route 1 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 35. Turn right onto Route 35 and drive for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 54. Take Route 54, and follow the signs for Hvítserkur waterfall. The parking area is located close to the waterfall, and once parked, a short walk of about 10-15 minutes will lead you to the viewing area of the waterfall. Ensure you have a GPS or map for more precise navigation.
Public Transportation
To reach Hvítserkur waterfall via public transportation, you will first need to take a bus from Kerlingarfjöll to the nearest town with bus services, which is Blönduós. The bus schedule may vary, so it's essential to check in advance. From Blönduós, you can catch a bus heading towards Húnavatnssýsla. Get off at the nearest stop where you can access Route 54. You will then need to walk approximately 8 kilometers to reach the waterfall, so it's advisable to plan for adequate time and check local maps for the walking route.
