Car

From Landmannalaugar, head east on the main road (F208). Continue for approximately 20 kilometers, following the signs for Sigoldufoss. The road is gravel, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for F-roads. Look for a small unmarked turnoff to the right; this is the access road to Sigoldufoss. Drive slowly as the terrain can be rough. After about 2 kilometers, you will arrive at the viewpoint for Sigoldufoss, where you can park your car.

Public Transportation

Take a bus from Landmannalaugar towards Hella. Make sure to check the bus schedule as they may not run frequently. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 5 kilometers along the road to reach Sigoldufoss. Follow the same route as cars, heading east on F208, and look for signs indicating the turnoff to Sigoldufoss.

Hiking

If you prefer to hike, you can follow the marked trails from Landmannalaugar. The hike will take approximately 5-7 hours one way, depending on your pace and the weather conditions. Follow the hiking trails leading southeast towards the river; keep an eye out for signs indicating the direction to Sigoldufoss. It’s advisable to travel in a group and carry sufficient water and snacks.
