Getting There

Car
From Akureyri, head south on Route 1 (the Ring Road) towards Selfoss. After approximately 125 km, take the exit for Route 35 towards Þingvellir National Park. Continue on Route 35 for about 25 km until you reach Route 30. Turn left onto Route 30 and follow it for another 10 km. Turn right onto Route 1 and after about 5 km, turn left onto Route 35 again. Continue on Route 35 until you see the signs for Kerid Crater. The parking lot is located right next to the crater. Note there is an entry fee of approximately 400 ISK per person.

From Akureyri, take a bus to Selfoss (check the schedule via Strætó). Once you arrive in Selfoss, you will need to transfer to a local bus heading towards Þingvellir.
