From Reykjavík, take the Route 1 (Ring Road) heading south. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 10 km until you reach the exit for Hafnarfjörður. Merge onto Route 43 towards Hafnarfjörður. After about 5 km, take the exit towards Hafnarfjörður town center. Continue straight until you reach X8X2+9CM, where Thríhnúkagígur Volcano is located. There is parking available nearby.

From Reykjavík City Center, take bus number 1 from Hlemmur bus station towards Kópavogur. Get off at the stop 'Hafnarfjörður' (approximately a 30-minute ride). From there, transfer to bus number 6 towards 'Hafnarfjörður - Stórholt'. Get off at the stop 'X8X2+9CM'. Thríhnúkagígur Volcano will be a short walk from the bus stop.
