Experience Falljokull

Getting There

  • Car

    From Skaftafell, head east on Route 1 (Ring Road) for about 6 kilometers. You will see signs for the Falljokull glacier. Turn left onto the gravel road that leads to the glacier parking area. The parking lot is located near the base of Falljokull. There is no fee for parking. From the parking lot, follow the marked trail towards the glacier, which is about a 30-minute walk.

    If you are relying on public transportation, take a bus from Skaftafell to the nearest bus stop on Route 1. Check the schedules for the local bus service, as they may not run frequently. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, you will need to walk approximately 6 kilometers along Route 1 to reach the gravel road entrance to Falljokull.
