After about 30 kilometers, you will come to the junction for Route 1 again. Continue on Route 1 for another 20 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for Route 1 northwest towards Lónsöræfi. Follow this route for about 15 kilometers, and keep an eye out for signs directing you toward the nature preserve. The last few kilometers may involve gravel roads, so ensure your vehicle is suitable for these conditions.
