If you're driving, start from the main road in The Highlands, Route 1 (the Ring Road), and head east towards Route 26. Take Route 26 until you reach the junction with Route 1. Turn onto Route 1 and follow it until you reach the junction for Route 208. Continue on Route 208, which will lead you closer to Ófærufoss. Note that parts of Route 208 may be gravel, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Drive approximately 15 kilometers along Route 208 until you see signs for Ófærufoss. Follow the signs to the designated parking area.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a bus to the nearest town, which is Höfn. From Höfn, you can catch a scheduled bus towards the Highlands, but check the local schedules as they vary. Once you reach the bus stop on Route 208, you will need to hike approximately 5 kilometers to Ófærufoss. Make sure to wear proper hiking shoes and carry enough water and snacks for the hike.
