If you are traveling by car, set your GPS to the coordinates 63.771279, -18.1718158. Start from Reykjavík and head southeast on Route 1 (the Ring Road). Continue on Route 1 for about 250 km until you reach the town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. From Kirkjubæjarklaustur, take Route 206 heading east for approximately 7 km. You will see the signs for Fjaðrárgljúfur on your left. There is a parking area near the canyon where you can leave your car.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Companies like Strætó provide services to this area. Once you arrive in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, you will need to either walk or arrange a taxi to reach Fjaðrárgljúfur, which is about 7 km away.
