From the main road in The Highlands, take Route 1 (Ring Road) towards the east. You'll want to exit onto Route 26 towards Þingvellir, then continue on Þingvallavegur (Route 36) until you reach the junction with Route 30. Take Route 30 north, and then merge onto Route 32. Follow Route 32 until you reach the junction for Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri. After approximately 20 km on Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri, you will find Sigoldufoss. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for this route due to rough terrain, and it is advisable to check road conditions before departure.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, take a bus from Reykjavik to Hella. From Hella, you will need to transfer to a local bus service that operates in the Highlands (check with local bus services for schedules and routes). The bus will take you to a point on Route 32. From there, it is necessary to hike approximately 10 km along Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri to reach Sigoldufoss. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance as services may be limited, especially in the off-peak seasons.
