If you are driving, head towards Route 1 (the Ring Road) from any point in The Highlands. Skógafoss is located along this road. From the town of Vik, it is approximately a 30-minute drive. Simply follow Route 1 northeast until you reach the Skógafoss parking area, which is well-marked along the road. Parking is free, and there is a short walk from the parking area to the waterfall itself.

If you prefer to use public transportation, take a bus from major hubs in The Highlands such as Akureyri or Reykjavik to Vik. From Vik, you can catch a local bus towards Skógafoss. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may not run frequently. Once you arrive at the Skógafoss stop, it is just a short walk to the waterfall.
