Car
If you are driving, start from Þórsmörk by taking the main road back towards the Ring Road (Route 1). This drive will take approximately 2 hours. Once you reach the Ring Road, turn left (east) and follow the signs for Reykjavík. As you approach the city, stay on Route 41 until you reach the center. Look for signs directing you to Hallgrimskirkja, which is located at Hallgrímstorg 1, 101 Reykjavík. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be a fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Hallgrimskirkja from Þórsmörk using public transportation, first, take a bus back to Hvolsvöllur, which is the nearest town with a bus station. From there, you can catch a bus to Reykjavík. The bus ride to Reykjavík will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the main bus station in Reykjavík (BSI), you can either walk or take a local bus (routes 14 or 18) to Hallgrimskirkja. The church is located in the Miðborg area, and the local buses are well marked. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the latest timings and expect to pay a fare for both the bus to Reykjavík and the local bus service.
