Once you reach Höfn, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading west. After about 20 kilometers, turn right onto Route 998, which leads to Vatnajökull National Park. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers until you reach the parking area for Svartifoss. Note that there is a parking fee of around 1,000 ISK (approximately $7.50 USD). From the parking area, it’s a scenic 1.5-kilometer hike to the waterfall.
