If you are traveling by car within the Westfjords, start by heading towards the town of Hvammstangi. From Hvammstangi, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading north. After approximately 25 kilometers, you will reach the junction for Route 711. Turn left onto Route 711. Follow this road for about 15 kilometers until you reach the parking area for Hvitserkur. The rock formation will be directly visible from the parking area.
