Car
If you are driving from Ísafjörður, take Route 61 heading east. Continue on Route 61 for about 20 kilometers until you reach the small town of Þingeyri. From Þingeyri, follow the signs for Route 60 towards Flateyri. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will see signs for Stórurðarlundur. Turn onto the gravel road leading to Stórurðarlundur and park in the designated area. Please note that some sections of the road may require a 4x4 vehicle due to rough terrain.
Public Transportation
To reach Stórurðarlundur using public transportation, take a bus from Ísafjörður to Þingeyri. Check local bus schedules for the departure times, as they may vary. Upon arriving in Þingeyri, you will need to arrange a taxi or a rideshare service to take you to Stórurðarlundur, as there is limited public transport directly to this location. Be prepared to cover the taxi fare, which can range from 4,000 to 8,000 ISK depending on the time of day and demand.
Hiking
