Therefore, you will need to drive back towards the city. It’s approximately a 45-minute drive (around 50 km) from Þingvellir to Reykjavík. Take Route 36 from Þingvellir, and then merge onto Route 1, which leads you directly into the city. Look for parking near Hallgrímstorg.
