Getting There

Walking
From downtown Lewiston, head east on Main Street towards 6th Avenue. Continue straight for about 0.6 miles until you reach the intersection with 9th Street. Turn right onto 9th Street and walk for about 0.3 miles. You will arrive at the Lewiston Public Library. From there, you can take a bus to Falmouth. Board the bus heading towards Portland at the bus stop located on 9th Street. After approximately 40 minutes, disembark at the Falmouth bus stop. From the bus stop, Mackworth Island is a short walk away: head south on Route 1 towards the waterfront, then look for signs to the island entrance.

Start at the Lewiston Transit Center located at 2111 14th Street. Board the bus heading towards Portland. This is Route 4, which runs regularly throughout the day. After about 40 minutes, get off at the Falmouth stop, which is near the intersection of Route 1 and Falmouth Road. From the Falmouth stop, you can walk to Mackworth Island by heading south along Route 1 and following the signs for Mackworth Island. It is approximately a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
