To reach the Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park, start by locating the Rexburg Transit bus stop near you. Board the bus heading towards Idaho Falls. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Idaho Falls, disembark at the stop closest to the Idaho Falls downtown area. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi for the remaining distance. The zoo is located at 2940 Carnival Way, which is approximately a 1.5-mile walk from downtown. Head south on S Capital Ave, turn left onto E 17th St, and continue until you reach Carnival Way. The zoo entrance will be on your right.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Rexburg. Start your journey by heading south on S 2nd E St towards E Main St. Continue onto S 1st E St and follow the bike paths leading to Idaho Falls. The total distance is about 27 miles and will take approximately 2 hours depending on your speed. As you cycle, follow the signs for bike routes towards Idaho Falls, making sure to stay on designated bike paths for safety. Once in Idaho Falls, follow E 17th St to Carnival Way to reach the zoo.

Walking from Rexburg to Idaho Falls is quite a long journey (approximately 27 miles), so it’s advisable to take the bus or bicycle instead. However, if you are determined to walk, you can start at the Rexburg Tabernacle and head south on S 2nd E St towards E Main St. Then, continue straight, following the path along the highway. This route will take you through some rural areas until you reach Idaho Falls. Once you arrive in Idaho Falls, navigate to Carnival Way by following the signs or asking locals for directions to the zoo.
