To reach Lake Zurich from downtown Arlington Heights, start by walking to the Arlington Heights Metra Station located at 45 W Northwest Hwy. Take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Crystal Lake. After approximately 25 minutes, disembark at the Barrington station. From there, transfer to the Pace Bus Route 556, which will take you directly to Lake Zurich. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Once you arrive in Lake Zurich, follow the signs to the lake area.

If you prefer biking, begin at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library at 500 N Dunton Ave. Head north on Dunton Ave, then turn left onto E Northwest Hwy. Continue on Northwest Hwy until you reach S Elmhurst Rd, where you will turn right. Follow Elmhurst Rd north until you reach Lake Zurich. The total biking distance is about 10 miles and will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your speed.
