From Arlington Heights, you can take the Metra train from the Arlington Heights Station (located at 45 W Northwest Hwy) on the Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Chicago. Board the train and stay on for approximately 30 minutes until you arrive at the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Once you arrive, exit the station and walk to the nearby Union Station. From Union Station, take the Metra Electric Line towards South Chicago. Get off at the 18th Street station. From there, walk east on 18th Street for about 5 minutes, then turn left on S Calumet Ave. The Battle of Fort Dearborn Park will be on your right at 1801 S Calumet Ave.

Take the Pace Bus Route 696 from Arlington Heights. Look for the nearest bus stop along the route and board the bus, which will take you towards the Rosemont CTA station. At the Rosemont station, transfer to the Blue Line train towards Forest Park. Ride the train until you reach the Washington station. From there, switch to the Red Line train towards 95th/Dan Ryan and ride until you reach the 18th station.
