Car
If you are already in Chain O'Lakes State Park, you can easily navigate to the Chain-o-lakes area by following the park roads. Start by heading south on the main park road until you reach the intersection with IL-173. Turn left onto IL-173 and continue for approximately 2 miles. Look for signs indicating Chain-o-lakes, which will be located on your right. Make sure to check for any parking areas available when you arrive.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, first take a bus from Spring Grove. The closest bus stop is near the entrance of Chain O'Lakes State Park. You can catch the 570 bus towards Fox Lake. After about 20 minutes, get off at the stop closest to IL-173. From there, you may need to walk approximately 1 mile along IL-173 to reach Chain-o-lakes. Note that public transport options may vary, so check the local schedule ahead of time.
Bicycle
For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike at one of the local rental shops in Spring Grove. Once you have your bike, exit the park and head south on the main park road. Take a left onto IL-173 and continue cycling for about 2 miles. This route is fairly straightforward, but be cautious of traffic along IL-173. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all biking safety rules.
