Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start by exiting Chain O'Lakes State Park onto Illinois Route 173. Head west on IL-173 for approximately 5.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Brandenburg Road. Turn right onto Brandenburg Road. Volo Bog State Natural Area will be on your left side at 28478 Brandenburg Rd, Ingleside, IL 60041, after about 1.2 miles. There is parking available on-site.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, first, you will need to take a bus or train to reach a nearby transit hub, such as the Metra train station in Fox Lake. From Fox Lake, you can take the Route 568 bus towards Ingleside. Get off at the stop closest to Brandenburg Road and walk approximately 1.5 miles south on Brandenburg Road to reach Volo Bog State Natural Area.
