Train
To reach Northwestern University at 633 Clark St, Evanston, IL, start by heading to the nearest 'L' train station in Chicago. If you're near downtown, you can catch the Red Line train at any of the stations like State/Lake or Washington/Wells. Take the train towards Howard. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Howard Station. From there, transfer to the Purple Line train heading towards Wilmette. Ride for about 10 minutes and get off at the Davis Station in Evanston. Once you exit the station, walk east on Davis St until you reach Clark St, then turn left and walk for about 5 minutes until you reach Northwestern University.
Bus
If you prefer to take the bus, locate the nearest bus stop for the #201 or #250 buses that travel to Evanston. You can catch these buses from various locations in the city, such as the Loop or along major streets like Michigan Ave. Once you board the bus, stay on it until you reach the Evanston stop on Clark St. This may take about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. After getting off, walk a short distance south on Clark St, and you will arrive at Northwestern University.
Biking
For a more active route, consider biking to Northwestern University. Start by renting a Divvy bike from one of the many stations throughout Chicago. Head north towards the lakefront path. Follow the path along Lake Michigan until you reach Evanston. This scenic route is approximately 12 miles and should take about an hour, depending on your pace. Once you reach Evanston, continue on the bike path until you reach Clark St, then turn south to reach your destination at 633 Clark St.
Walking
If you are near the northern parts of Chicago, you might consider walking to Northwestern University. Start by heading towards the nearest bus stop or train station that goes north. From the Howard Station, it’s about a 20-minute walk to the university. Head east on Howard St, then turn left on Chicago Ave, and continue until you reach Clark St. Turn right, and you will find Northwestern University shortly on the left.
