If you are starting from the Chicago Loop, take the 'L' train from Clark/Lake Station (Green Line or Pink Line). Stay on the train for four stops and get off at the Washington/Wells Station. From there, walk north on Wells Street for about three blocks until you reach Kinzie Street. Turn left onto Kinzie Street, and you will find the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Bridge at the intersection of Kinzie Street and the Chicago River.

From the Merchandise Mart (a popular location for tourists), exit the building and head southeast on the Riverwalk. Follow the Riverwalk along the Chicago River towards the east. Continue until you reach Kinzie Street. Once you reach Kinzie Street, turn left and walk to the bridge. The bridge will be on your right as you approach the river.

If you are near State Street, you can take the #37 Sedgwick bus heading north. Board the bus at the nearest stop and ride until you reach the Kinzie & Wells stop. From there, walk east on Kinzie Street for about three blocks until you see the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Bridge at the intersection with the Chicago River.
