Ferne Clyffe State Park is located on Illinois Route 37, approximately one mile south of Goreville and 12 miles south of Marion. From Interstate 57, take the Goreville exit and follow the signs to Route 37. From Interstate 24, take the Goreville/Tunnel Hill exit and follow the signs to Route 37. Once on Route 37, the park entrance is clearly marked. Parking is available in multiple lots throughout the park. Parking is free.

A trail connects the park to Goreville, offering a scenic route for hikers. The walk from Goreville to the main park area is approximately 2 miles.
