The Lincoln Heritage Museum is located at 1115 Nicholson Road, on the campus of Lincoln College. From I-55, take exit 126 for Lincoln Parkway/Route 10. Head east on Route 10, then turn left onto Nicholson Road. The museum will be on your left. Parking is free.
Walking

From the center of Lincoln, Illinois, head east on Keokuk Street toward McLean Street. Turn left onto McLean Street, then turn right onto Nicholson Road. Continue on Nicholson Road until you reach Lincoln College. The museum is located on the campus grounds. The walk is approximately 1.5 miles and should take around 30 minutes.

The Lincoln Heritage Museum offers a personal and intimate look into the life of Abraham Lincoln. Founded in 1865, the museum is located on the campus of Lincoln College, the first college named after Abraham Lincoln during his lifetime. The museum's collection began with a donation from Lincoln collector Lawrence Stringer in 1942 and has grown to include around 20,000 artifacts.The museum's exhibits feature a variety of items, including an 1860 campaign poster, a lock of Lincoln's hair, Mary Lincoln's jewelry, and Tad Lincoln's rocking chair. Other notable items include Mary Lincoln's mourning veil, personal handkerchief, monogrammed towels, and dinnerware from the Lincoln home. The museum also displays Civil War rifles, soldiers' items, and recruitment broadsides.Visitors can explore Lincoln's life through manuscripts, letters, and Civil War broadsheets. The museum also includes exhibits on Logan County history and the September 11th attacks.
