From the center of Shawnee National Forest, head south on IL-145 S. Continue on IL-145 S for about 10 miles until you reach the intersection with IL-146. Turn left onto IL-146 E and follow it for approximately 8 miles. You will see signs for Dixon Springs State Park. The park entrance will be on your left at 982 IL-146, Golconda, IL 62938. Note that there may be a small entrance fee for parking, typically around $5.
