If you're starting from downtown Springfield, head to the nearest bus stop. Board the Sangamon Mass Transit District (SMTD) Route 11 bus, which travels towards Lake Shore Drive. Stay on the bus for about 20-25 minutes until you reach the stop at E Lake Shore Dr & N 11th St. From there, walk east along E Lake Shore Dr for approximately 0.5 miles, and you will see the entrance to Henson Robinson Zoo on your left.

Head east on Monroe St, then turn left onto 11th St. Continue north until you reach E Lake Shore Dr. Turn right and follow E Lake Shore Dr for about 1 mile. The zoo will be on your left-hand side. Head north on 2nd St until you reach Monroe St. Turn left on Monroe St and continue until you hit 11th St. Turn right and walk north on 11th St until you reach E Lake Shore Dr. Turn left and walk for about 0.5 miles. The zoo entrance will be on your left.
