From downtown Waukegan, walk to the Waukegan Metra Station located at 100 W Water St. Take the Union Pacific North Line train towards Chicago. Get off at the Skokie Station. From the Skokie Station, you can take the Pace Bus Route 210 towards the Skokie Heritage Museum, getting off at the Floral Ave & Dempster St stop. Walk a short distance east on Floral Ave to reach the museum at 8031 Floral Ave.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local bike rental shop in Waukegan. Head east on Washington St, then turn left on Grand Ave. Continue on Grand Ave until you reach the intersection with Skokie Hwy (Route 41). Follow the bike lanes and continue onto Dempster St. Turn right onto Floral Ave, and you will find the Skokie Heritage Museum at 8031 Floral Ave after a short ride.

If you are close to the downtown area, you can take a scenic walk. Start from the Waukegan Harbor and head southwest on Waukegan Rd.
