Agra Fort: A Walled City of Mughal Grandeur

Agra Fort, also known as Agra's Red Fort, is a sprawling historical fort in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The 2.5-kilometer-long walls of the crescent-shaped fort rise 70 feet high and are surrounded by a moat.Inside, visitors can explore impressive structures like the Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), where emperors addressed the public, and the Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), used for meetings with nobles and dignitaries. Other notable sites include the Jahangir Mahal, Khas Mahal, Musamman Burj (a marble tower offering views of the Taj Mahal), and the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors).Agra Fort has witnessed significant historical events, including power struggles, battles, and even the house arrest of Emperor Shah Jahan by his son Aurangzeb.
