Walking
From the Alappuzha bus stand, Punnamada Lake is approximately a 30-minute walk (2.9km). Head west towards the main road, then turn left. Continue straight, following the road as it curves along the waterfront. You'll pass local shops and eateries. The lake will be on your right. Entry to the lake is free.
Public Transport
From Alappuzha KSRTC Bus Stand, take a local bus or auto-rickshaw towards Punnamada. Buses are frequent and cost approximately ₹10-₹20. Auto-rickshaws are readily available and will cost around ₹60-₹80 for the trip to the lake. The bus stand is near the SWTD boat jetty.
Taxi/Ride-share
Taxis and ride-sharing services (Uber) are available from Alappuzha town and railway station. A taxi ride from the Alappuzha Railway Station to Punnamada Lake (approximately 6.6 km) will cost around ₹100-₹150. Uber rates start at ₹9.80 per km.
