The temple is dedicated to Vasupujya Swami and is known for its exquisite architecture, constructed with white marble and Rajasthani stones. The intricate carvings and serene atmosphere offer a peaceful retreat for visitors. The temple's origins trace back over a century when 42 Jain families from Gujarat were brought to Alappuzha during the reign of Dewan Raja Kesavadas for the industrial development of the township. Today, a trust elected from the remaining Jain families manages the temple's affairs, preserving its rich heritage. Unlike many other temples in Kerala, the Swetamber Jain Temple was constructed without a dome or iron supports. 'Parva Paryushana', an important eight-day festival, is celebrated annually in August or September, drawing priests and devotees from across India. The temple not only serves as a place of worship but also plays a vital role in the socio-economic culture of Alappuzha.
